About Us

A residential builder and remodeler where quality work and honest communication are everything.

Transformative Builds is a residential remodeling company serving King and Snohomish Counties and surrounding areas in the Pacific Northwest. Jeff King and his team bring extensive project management experience to every job, whether it’s a kitchen renovation, a deck build, or a full deep energy retrofit. We work with homeowners who care about what goes into their home: the craftsmanship, the materials, the long-term impact, and the health of the people living in it. If that sounds like you, we’d love to talk.

ADUs and DADUs

Our Process

We aim for transparent communication and intentional workflows with every project.

Phase 1: Discovery & Alignment
We start by learning about your home and the vision you have for it. We discuss budget early, align on scope, and work through the core decisions that shape the project so that by the time we commit to building, everyone knows exactly what to expect.
Phase 2: Preconstruction & Commitment
Planning is essential to making the construction phase go smoothly. We address design refinements, material selections, permitting, existing conditions review, and final pricing so the build phase can move forward with clarity and confidence.
Phase 3: Construction & Completion
During construction, we keep clients informed through regular communication and scheduled progress check-ins, and once the final walkthrough is done, we formalize closeout and provide warranty information. If any questions or issues arise, we’re always standing by ready to help.

Frequently Asked Questions

Every project is unique, and the final cost depends on the materials selected, the scope of work, and the specific goals you have for your remodel. After your initial consultation, we can provide you with a clear, detailed breakdown so you know exactly what to expect in terms of cost.

Timeline varies by project. A bathroom remodel might take 1-3 months depending on the size and scope of the project. Not many people can work within a bathroom at one time, so we typically need to stagger trades on the schedule. If you’re planning on expanding your bathroom or changing the floor plan, your project will likely fall towards the later end of the range.
Full kitchen remodels take 3-5 months. While that is a wide range, the timeline is dependent on:
  • The materials you choose
  • The extent of layout reconfiguration and subsequent impact of existing MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) routes
  • If the home is being expanded to accommodate a larger kitchen

Our construction agreements always give an estimated timeline, and we work hard to keep every project on track so our client can be back to enjoying their new space as soon as possible.
Usually, though it depends on the scope of the project. Smaller renovations typically allow you to stay put with minimal disruption. Larger projects, like a full kitchen gut or whole-home remodel, may require some adjustments to your daily routine although we strive to keep this to a minimum. We will share details on what to expect before any work begins so you can plan accordingly.
Yes. Transformative Builds is fully licensed, bonded, and insured in Washington State. We’re also members of MBAKS (Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties) and the NAHB, so you can hire us with complete confidence.
We use premium materials, work with trusted and reliable tradespeople, and bring extensive project management experience to every job. What sets us apart most is open communication, attention to detail, and focus on getting durable and healthy living spaces for our clients. We set clear expectations upfront and make sure we can meet them, and keep our clients informed at every stage of the journey.
Unfortunately, due to liability reasons, we do not allow homeowners to do their own work or hire their own subcontractors. In order for our warranty to stand, we must oversee the remodeling process from beginning to end and be able to utilize our reliable subcontractor roster. Trust us, it’s a better experience for everyone!
